Application
Application
For new outdoor hortensias, sprinkle 150 g/m² of fertilizer on the soil or 50 g/plant.
For existing outdoor hortensias, sprinkle 60-80 g/m² of fertilizer on the soil around your hortensias or 25 g/plant.
For potted hortensias, add 3-5 g of fertilizer per liter of potting soil in the spring and 2-3 g of fertilizer per liter of potting soil after 3 months.
Work the fertilizer lightly into the soil.
Every application of fertilizer should be followed by adequate watering.
1.5 kg of Koryphé Hortensia Love can supply up to 20 hortensias or an area of about 15 m² with all relevant nutrients.
Application Period
Outdoor hortensias are fertilized once a year.
Potted hortensias require two fertilizer applications due to the lower substrate volume and the associated reduced nutrient availability.

Background on hortensias
Hortensias are known as ornamental plants given their large flowerheads and expressive blooms. When pruned on an annual basis, new leaf buds begin to appear instead of having heavy flowers which can cause soggy stems.
The color of the flowers on hortensias can change from blue to pink and vice versa depending on the acidity level of the soil. The other common hortensia colors are purple and white. Varying between cultures and comunities, hortensias were once used as bladder remedies across Indian culture, as tea in Japanese culture and they also represented gratitude and celebration across Asian cultures.
Hortensias are luscious flowers full of surprises, uses and symbolism. You can expect to be rewarded with luxurious foliage and glorious blooms when practicing proper care and feeding. Our Koryphé Hortensia Love fertilizer aims to be your plant's ally and primary option when it comes to nourishing!

What is the difference between regular and organic fertilizers?
Organic fertilizers release nutrients when they break down. This improves the soil health and its ability to hold water and nutrients. The components in organic fertilizers are made of natural ingredients such as plant substances from food and animal feed production.
Inorganic fertilizers feed your plants in fast doses of nutrients. These fertilizers contain the risk of a toxic overdose of chemicals that can negatively affect the growth of your plants.
What are the benefits of sustainable hortensia fertiliser?
Natural fertilizers are composed of animal waste, plant substances from food compost and animal feed production, and decaying leaves and plants. They also improve soil structure and its ability to hold nutrients and water. Additionally, they are non-toxic to wildlife and insects.
Sustainable hortensia fertilizers will encourage strong branch and root growth, through the balanced amount of essential nutrients. Hortensia Love fertilizer is made to provide health and strength to your plants and blooms and will also increase the flower heads' size, number, and color.
What are the essential nutrients my hortensia plants need to thrive?
The 3 essential nutrients for plants to grow are Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K).
Nitrogen is necessary for the development of chlorophyll and cells in plants. It encourages healthy stalk growth and gives plants the support they need to constantly bloom.
Phosphate, also known as phosphorus, strengthens the root system and boosts the tissues in edible plants, fruit, and vegetables in addition to enhancing the capacity for seed production, flowers, and flowering.
Potassium, also known as potash, helps the plant better resist high temperatures by regulating water and enzyme activity. It's crucial for fruit and flower production, as well as root growth and seed generation.
